The Latest News From Bright MLS:
SCAOR is still waiting on Bright MLS Training dates, but Bright MLS’s main website is consistently being updated with news of their progress. There’s plenty of information, videos, press releases, and more available. Check it out at BrightMLS.com!
Here’s one story that caught our attention:
One less login! Supra and Sentrilock now available in Bright:
Bright will be your one source to enter and manage your listings and showings. And now they’ve added another important piece to your listing management options.
Listing Agents and their teams will have the ability to assign Sentrilock and Supra lockboxes to their listing through Bright MLS.
As part of this change, you will also be able view the list of agents who visited the listing directly from within Bright – no need to log into Sentrilock and Supra separately to view this information!
This is just another way Bright is simplifying your MLS experience, providing one place for you to manage and update your listings, showing information and now lockboxes.
Here are two documents Bright MLS handed out to all our attendees. Pay special attention to the “8 Bright MLS Rules to Know” sheet – it gives a preview of Bright MLS Property types and statuses.

Welcome back to Tech Tip Tuesday!
This week, we wanted to give you a “behind the scenes” look at our membership and on-boarding process. Here’s what happens when someone decides to become a SCAOR member.
01 – The future SCAOR member completes their real estate pre-licensing classes (not offered at SCAOR), and passes their exam.
02 – The agent then selects a broker to become affiliated with.
03 – The agent goes to SCAOR.com’s membership page, and downloads the membership packet that corresponds with their membership type (Primary, Secondary, or MLS Only).
04 – The agent would then fill out & send in all paperwork and membership payment. (You may email paperwork to mary@scaor.com, fax it to us at 302-855-2319, or physically bring it in.
05 – The agent would wait 3-5 Business days for processing at SCAOR.
06 – After receiving a “welcome” email, the member would then come in to retrieve their SentriLock Card (if applicable) and attend the appropriate New Member Orientation (if applicable).

SCAOR will invoice members and MLS Only members on Tuesday, January 16 with payment due on Friday, Feb. 16. If payment is not collected by Feb. 16 then MLS services will be terminated.
Lastly, we anticipate a March 1-6 conversion date with a 2-3 week Bright MLS preview. Stay tuned for more information on the Bright MLS transition in the coming days and weeks. Don’t forget to read the weekly Bright MLS Thursday email.

SentriLock Minimum Password Requirements:
Effective 1/1/2018, SentriLock will be establishing minimum password requirements.
The number one method hackers use to gain access to someone else’s online account is to attack less secure passwords. SentriLock is making our system even more secure by requiring more robust passwords.
As of 1/1/2018, SentriLock will require a minimum password standard of six (6) characters, with one (1) upper case letter, one (1) lower case letter, and one (1) numeric value.
Customers will be able to update their passwords to the new requirements in the SentriSmart™ App or the SentriLock Lockbox web site. Thank you for your cooperation as we implement these changes.

SCAOR would like to thank our Platinum & Diamond members:
2017 has been an exciting year for your Association! For those who did not attend the 2018 Installation on November 30, I would like to welcome Chris Lind as the 2018 SCAOR President. I would also like to acknowledge Susan Giove as President Elect, Sandi Bisgood as 1st Vice President and Chrissy Steele as 2nd Vice President. Kevin Thawley will remain as SCAOR Treasurer. Additionally, I would like to welcome three new members to the Board. Carol Materniak, George Thomasson and Judy Dean will all commence their new terms on January 1, 2018. I would also like to thank all the members who were selected to volunteer on a committee. The Association could not operate without your services, and we greatly appreciate your time and effort.
Other exciting news includes the transition to a new MLS. The scheduled conversion date of December 12 was cancelled and will be rescheduled very soon. Once I receive news of the new date, we will communicate to you right away. I encourage members to sign up for all training workshops and to contact Bright MLS representatives if you have questions. You are also advised to contact me at merritt@scaor.com if you have specific questions or comments. I will do my best to answer your question or direct you to the appropriate person for assistance. Please be patient, as transitioning to a regional MLS has its short-term challenges.
Lastly, we would like to inform the members that Ben Kunde, MLS Admininstrator, has been hired by Bright MLS. Ben’s first day with Bright is December 4, so if you get a free moment wish him well. Andrew Mason and I will be fielding MLS emails and phone calls until the SCAOR officially converts to Bright MLS.
As a final note, I would like to thank Patricia, Andrew, Mary, and Kristy for their hard work serving the members these last few months. I am fortunate to work with such as talented and dedicated team. The future looks bright in 2018.
