SCAOR Card – Issue #008 – Public Policy
Sussex County Comprehensive Plan has had its next round of public meetings that started on May 1st. This round of public meetings concludes on May 10th from 5-7:30 at Milford Senior Center, located at 111 Park Avenue, Milford; and May 16th from 5-7:30 at Beacon Middle School, located on RT 24, Lewes.
Public Policy encourages all REALTOR® members to participate in these hearings. The collective REALTOR® voice needs to be heard and our Chairman strongly implores our membership to take the time to come out to a public hearing and stay abreast of the Comp Plan developments. This can be done by visiting sussexplan.com.
Several legislative issues have come about as the first session of the 149th General Assembly draws to a close. We are thrilled that we could assist DAR with their Call To Action to stop HB 58. The defeat of HB 58 was a win for HOAs and for our property owners within the HOAs. - the Mid Year NAR Legislative Day in Washington, DC on May 17th,
- June as “Home Ownership Month” as well as an upcoming
- Legislative Action Day in Dover and
- August brings our Sussex County Administration/Council Appreciation Day.
