The SCAORCard – Issue #001 – Finances
To reduce time today, I would summarize my GM meeting and BOD meeting reports into one update.
Welcome to the new SCAOR monthly communication called SCAORcard! After several visits to local brokerages, staff and I decided that we needed to send the membership a monthly email with core topics such as communications, technology, public policy, education, committee reports, and DAR / NAR information. Additional reports will be submitted from Womens Council of Realtors, Sussex Foundation and the Peninusla Commercial Alliance. The goal is to provide the members with a snapshot of your organization.
The first topic I would like to summarize as your CEO is finances. As of August 31, income is at 96% and expenses are at 59% of the approved budget. I project a nominal surplus by the end of 2016. The Finance Committee will meet on October 19 at 2 pm at SCAOR to review the 2017 Operating Budget. The second topic of great importance is the upcoming BOD vote on Bright MLS on November 17 at 9 am. Bright MLS is a new concept of regional consolidation that SCAOR has been invited to join in 2017. Bright MLS has been covered at the August 30 Participants meeting and the October 3 General Membership meeting. My primary role has been to submit information to the Board, Participants and Members as I have received it. For more information on Bright MLS please visit MLSEvolved.com, talk to your broker or call me directly.
Lastly, it has been a pleasure working as your CEO. If you have questions, comments or complaints, please call me at (302) 855-2300.
